Environmental Health Map
Our human health is dependent on the health of the environment, including our air, water, land, wildlife and ecosystems. Countless environmental health hazards across the state negatively affect community members who live next door and contribute to health disparities.
This environmental health map is meant to pinpoint specific threats to human health so that Marylanders can gain a more concrete understanding of where environmental health threats exist in the state today. While this map cannot include every health threat, it is a tool that can help people understand why protecting human health is linked with protecting the environment. In order to address these health hazards and create healthy, resilient communities across the state, we need to advocate for the protecting our human right to a healthful and stable environment.
Using the Map: Viewers are able to click on each individual pin to read about the environmental health threat at that site. You can also select/unselect layers if you wish to view only one category of environmental issues at a time.
